The Cryogenic Gate Valve is designed for dependable full-open and full-close isolation in piping systems handling liquefied gases and other cryogenic fluids. These valves are manufactured using materials selected for low-temperature toughness and are commonly designed for service temperatures down to approximately -196°C, depending on the specific configuration.
A key feature is the extended bonnet/vapor column, which positions the stem packing away from the extremely cold process fluid. This helps prevent freezing and maintains effective stem sealing during operation.
When fully open, the gate provides a relatively unobstructed flow path with low pressure drop. Cryogenic gate valves are primarily intended for isolation rather than continuous throttling.
